Piet Roelen: From Marshalsea to Music Magnate with 30 Million Euros

Piet Roelen

Piet Roelen began his career in the Dutch Marshalsea in the 60s, before moving into show business following his marriage to Corry Konings, an acclaimed singer-songwriter in the Netherlands. As Corry's husband, he embraced the role of her personal manager. The marriage lasted twelve years. In the meantime, Roelen founded his own artist agency in Baarle-Hertog, on the Belgian-Dutch border, and moved to a villa in Vosselaar, Belgium. There, he offered his management services to a number of numerous artists flamingos and a fortune of over €40,000,000.

Helmut Lotti and the success of "Lotti goes Classic
Helmut Lotigiersbetter known as Lotti, received management services from Roelen, who made a major contribution to its development. The revelatory project was "Lotti goes Classic", where Lotti performed classics with a symphony orchestra, a concept conceived by Roelen. These performances captured the attention of an international audience and led to the sale of millions of albums worldwide, including over 13 million CDs.

Over the years, Lotti sought to demonstrate his potential beyond covers, creating a double album, "The Crooners", which included both covers and original compositions. However, this ambition was not as successful as expected, and Lotti suffered losses for several consecutive years.
