At the heart of its activities lies SDA Holding, a group firmly rooted in machinery distribution construction and agricultural, of industrial equipment and vehicles, creating an empire worth millions of euros.

Founded in 1991, this cooperative began by exporting automotive parts and vehicles between the Belgium and Africa. Over time, the company diversified its operations:

  • Construction vehicle distributionSales of these vehicles account for 40% of the Group's total sales.
  • Benelux market: By acquiring the Kuiken group, SDA Holding has strengthened its presence in the Benelux countries, which now account for 26 % of total revenues.
  • African activitiesAlthough Africa previously accounted for the majority of the Holding's revenues, this share has been reduced to 20%, reflecting a strategy of regional diversification.

In terms of agricultural products, the Group has forged partnerships with well-known brands such as John Deere and Hitachi. These products make up a segment market share of 13%, of which a significant portion is generated in Africa.

SDA Holding also streamlined its legal structure, transferring its Luxembourg entity, African Equities, to Belgium, facilitating its involvement in the hotel and construction sectors in Africa. Its key assets in the hotel sector include theGrand Karavia Hotel in Lubumbashi and the prestigious Pullman Kinshasa Grand Hotel in the DRC.

A strategic turning point came in 2023, with the dissolution of the central holding company SDA, concentrating all activities on SMT, the exclusive distributor of Volvo heavy trucks for the Benelux region. This marks a clear reorientation of the Group's business interests.

It is important to mention that the consolidation and reorientation of Philippe de Moerloose's business operations is taking place at the same time. to significant political change in the DRC, marking a new era in the region's economic dynamic.
