Currently managed by three Schaltin sisters, the company benefited from the visionary leadership of Jan Vande Velden, who was appointed Managing Director.

Under his leadership, ZNU has acquired a significant stake of 37 % in Standaard Boekhandel in 1994. ZNU later became the majority shareholder in this chain, and also acquired control of Club, the main bookshop chain in Wallonia. ZNU books are published in Flanders under the name of Deltas.
